After seven years and more than 200 shows at Newtown's Sandringham Hotel, the Pop Heads music quiz team is on the move.

The free show, which tests patrons' knowledge of the "vinyl years" from the late 1950s to the 1980s, will now be held on the first Thursday of each month at the Erskineville Hotel, in nearby Erskineville Road.

Pop Heads host Roddy Lee and his team are renowned for digging up fascinating trivia about all manner of pop and rock hitmakers, from the greatest to the most grating.

The multimedia quiz starts at 7:30pm sharp and is designed to be fun for any level of participant, be they a casual music fan or dedicated music history mastermind.

Lee says he is enthusiastic about the new venue. It has off-street parking and is in close proximity to trains and buses. It also has an extensive, reasonably priced bistro menu for those who require food for thought.

"People have asked if we're ever going to run out of records to play and questions to ask about them," he adds. "But the vinyl years were incredibly prolific. As anyone who has taken part in Pop Heads will tell you, it's amazing what you can - and can't - remember from them."
